Action for Happiness
The 12th of April 2011 was all about happiness and marked the launch of Action for Happiness, a new movement for positive social change. The movement is based on research that small acts of kindness among people can create a happier society.
The event saw a wide range of academics, professionals, and public, private and charity organisations who work on mental wellbeing and happiness come together to collaborate, share and learn about research, methods and projects.
As Mark Williamson, the director of Action for Happiness, stated, a movement does not start with an individual, it starts with different groups of people and organisations working nationally and globally towards the same aims.
We were especially happy to showcase our DIY Happiness Game, a Well London project we designed and developed as a touring pop-up game around London which offers players the chance to win, swap and share happiness tips.
The game attracted a large amount of interest at the event, as well as on national news and social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. You can find out more by visiting the DIY Happiness blog.
