Uscreates project in the Guardian

Uscreates is working with Barking and Dagenham council to help them better engage with their residents and through doing so identify areas for change and improvement. One of the first areas for change identified, is to raise awareness and action for the appropriate disposal of waste. The Uscreates team is currently guiding internal staff and residents through a process of developing, prototyping and piloting interventions to address this challenge.

In a recent Guardian article, Darren Henaghan, corporate director of housing and environment at London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, talks about this process, and how the Design Council’s Public Services by Design mentoring programme has helped them involve residents in the design of their services.
