Uscreates win an advertising award
Leading behaviour change agency Uscreates won an award for CHECK YOU OUT!, a co-created campaign to increase chlamydia screening rates.
CHECK YOU OUT! was co-designed with the target audience of 15 – 24 year olds in Birmingham, many of whom also acted as ambassadors and featured in the campaign’s visuals.
The social marketing campaign for NHS Birmingham East and North scooped the bronze award in the Consumer Mixed Media Campaign category at the Institute of Practitioning Advertisers Best of Health Awards 2010.
The young ambassadors helped to create an innovative campaign including elements of service redesign alongside a free cinema event, a Facebook hub and a film competition. These were all designed to tackle barriers to getting tested, such as social stigma and embarrassment, identified in focus groups.
Waheed Saleem, Locality Director for NHS Birmingham East and North, said:
“I would like to congratulate Uscreates in winning the award. I commissioned them to produce an innovative way of engaging young people on the very sensitive subject area of Chlamydia screening and what I got back was imaginative, great quality and engaged a lot of young people, which we are continuing with. The award is well deserved and it was a pleasure working with the team.”
The Best of Health Awards were at Gilgamesh Studios in Camden on June 24 and celebrate the best creativity in healthcare advertising.
