BMF - behaviour change experts

Zoe’s point of view
Over three years ago I did a Comfort Zone Challenge here at Uscreates aimed at changing my behaviour to increase my fitness levels. Three years later and I have only just achieved this personal behaviour change goal … I finally feel pretty fit.
I eventually achieved this goal when I joined British Military Fitness (BMF) about 6 months ago. BMF is a company that employs ex-military fitness trainers to run fitness classes in parks across the country. Since joining I have been reflecting on the business model and the techniques that they use to help its clients change and sustain their fitness behaviours.
Today, I decided to map some of my experiences from BMF against MINDSPACE, a checklist of influences on our behaviour designed for use in policy making, published by the Institute for Government.
Here is what I came up with!

BMF may not be for everybody, but I do think that the company has an excellent understanding of human behaviours and has designed a clever service to suit these. What could public health services adopt from the BMF model to help bring about citizen behaviour change?
