British Council for School Environments


The British Council for School Environments (BCSE) commissioned Uscreates to consult stakeholders on the design of their future Academy as part of the Design Festival held at Sir Frank Markham School, Milton Keynes.


Uscreates worked with architects and BCSE Associates to develop participative and engaging workshops for students, staff and the competing bidders.


Outcomes

Design Festival event consulting 70 stakeholders


Five workshop themes covered:
- Entrance and ‘Foyer’
- Social Spaces (internal and external)
- Inclusion – inclusive spaces, facilities and approach
- The Enterprise Centre – what does the Business and Enterprise status
mean for the Academy?
- Learning Spaces – specialist spaces


Ten workshops facilitated


Evaluation presentation reporting key findings back to stakeholders


Report document submitted outlining findings and recommendations


It is intended that a wider community consultation event will take place when the school reconvenes in September 2007.
