Kidbrooke School, in South East London, has on-going work to redesign the school’s social spaces, as well as the educational areas. Uscreates worked with Year 8 and 9 pupils to explore the use of design in creating socially engaging and interactive areas in the existing buildings and the surrounding outdoor areas.
Outcomes
60 pupils attended a two-day workshop.
External areas were located for potential change and documented.
Designs for internal spaces were mocked up and installed to gage other pupils’ reactions.
Furniture designs were prototyped for exhibiting within the school.
Outdoor bench design
